The Wombat Room (6 mths to 2.5 years)
Lead Educator - Mon, Tues, Wed
I have currently been at Columbia Park Early Learning Centre for 13 years.
I became an Early Childhood Educator because I love educating and caring for children, and watching how their individual personalities make every day unique and special. I love the relationships you build with the children and their families, that last long after they've finished at Columbia Park. And I love the amazing workmates who have become lifelong friends.
Lead Educator - Thurs, Fri
Hi, my name is Renee and I have worked in the Children’s Services Industry for more than twenty six years. I have my Diploma in Early Childhood and have been at Columbia Park Early Learning Centre for seventeen years. I am always learning something new in my career which I believe helps me grow as an Educator. I believe in building strong trusting relationships with children so they feel safe, secure and supported. I believe in the rights of children and nurturing their learning through planning and daily practices. I believe it is important the words we use with children. It is rewarding to see children learn and grow through planning and practices implemented.
Room Educator - Thurs, Fri
I have been working at Columbia Park for 16 years and before that I worked at other centres and in kindergartens for many more. I am passionate about including sustainable practices into the rooms and the centre as a whole. I pride myself on being an advocate for the children and having their voices heard in all areas within the centre. A highlight of my job is seeing the children develop and grow during their time at the centre.
The Wombats room is based on children from 6 months through to 2 years old we have up to 11 children each day with 3 educators.
Our program plan is based through play, routines, transitions and focused learning and teaching, we guide children's learning and development across 5 key learning areas: Identity, Wellbeing, Community, Learning and Communication, we base our program around the children’s interest as well as family goals. We encourage families to be involved in their child’s learning and to be constantly involved.
